Tips for Hosting a Backyard BBQ
There’s nothing better than the smell of burning charcoal in the summertime! Or, pretty much anytime, in our opinion. When you’re ready to fire up the grill and invite your friends and family over for some good food, we’ve got you covered. Here are our tips for hosting a backyard BBQ no matter the season.
Check the Weather
Sometimes, you take one look outside and think it’s perfect weather to host a last-minute barbecue. But, if you’re planning ahead of time, always check the weather to avoid any unexpected storms. For days that are going to be extra sunny, our tips for hosting a backyard BBQ in the heat are to create some shade and have a big old fan. We know how sweltering those southern summers get! Also, don’t forget the bug spray to keep those pesky mosquitoes away. In the winter, blankets and a nice warm fire go a long way.
Have Plenty of Seating
Give your guests a good amount of seating options and tables for them to eat at. It’s hard to enjoy a hot dog if you have a drink in one hand and a plate in the other! Bring those folding tables out of the garage and give them a good clean before your guests come over. You’ll want to lay out plates, cutlery, cups, napkins, and maybe even a tablecloth to top it off.
Our tips for hosting a backyard BBQ wouldn’t be complete without beverages! Whether it’s sparkling water, soda, or something a little stronger, provide plenty of drinks to keep your guests hydrated! Make sure your drinks stay nice and cold by putting them in the cooler at least a few hours before your guests come. Friendly tip: fill up your cooler with ice water, ice, and salt to make them stay colder longer!
Cook Enough Food
Make sure your guests are well fed by buying ½ pound of meat for each person coming. This is a good rule of thumb because it’s a slight overestimation, but it’s better to have more and make leftovers than to have hungry guests. Of course, our tips for hosting a backyard BBQ would not be complete without a little Rancher’s Prime. Our fall-off-the-bone, smoker-fresh BBQ products are delicious and easy to make.
